Bath bombs are a great way to start the day and energize your body and are an amazing treat to cap off the night and lull you to deep sleep.
Have you ever tried to create your own homemade DIY lush bath bombs?
Give it a try. It will be easy and fun.
Prepare baking soda, citric acid or lemon juice, Epsom salt, water and vegetable oil. Although colorants are optional, it is recommended to add to the mixture because they will create the swirling colorful effects upon use of homemade DIY lush bath bombs.
While essential oils are also not mandatory to add, take advantage of them for they will create the aromatic fragrance to fill your bathroom as you soak in your bubbling and sparkling DIY lush bath bombs.
Prepare a mixer, one large mixing bowl, another two smaller bowls and spoons. Of course, the most important of all the tools is the molds where you will sculpt your bath bombs. You can choose from a variety of shapes of molds to your liking.
With all these ingredients and tools complete in hand, just follow these seven easy steps to make homemade DIY lush bath bombs.
Mix the dry ingredients following these measures: two cups of baking soda, one cup of citric acid or lemon juice, one cup of Epsom salt.
Make sure there are no clumps or tufts in the mixture. The blend has to be truly refined in texture.
In another bowl, put together the wet ingredients following these measurements: one tablespoon of water, three tablespoons of vegetable oils, 30 droplets of essential oils of your choice, and five droplets of liquid soap dye.
Pour the mixture of wet ingredients into the mixture of dry ingredients. Do so slowly, at least one teaspoon at a time.
Make sure that you follow this part of the instruction as pouring in the wet mix too fast into the dry mix will make the mixture fizz and sizzle which might just be the failure of your DIY bath bomb creation. Be careful to avoid this.
While adding the wet mix to the dry mix should be very gradually, whisking the new mixture has to be done very quickly. Again, this is to avoid making the ingredients react and start to froth.
This is when you can experiment in adding more colorants to the mix.
Squeeze your damp and viscous mixture into the molds. Make sure that you stuff them in completely without any vacuum and then press the blend down.
Remove the bath bombs from the molds after 15 minutes. Do this with care. Lightly squeeze the sides of the bombs until they come out intact.
Dry them on paper towels for at least four hours although it is even recommended to leave them overnight for best results.
There you go. You now have your own homemade DIY lush bath bombs.
Master the proportion of the dry ingredients and the step wherein you slowly pour the wet mix into the dry mix. Be a good judge if the mix is already viscous enough to be placed in the molds. Learn how to better adjust the wet mix as the stickiness and dampness of the entire mix will depend on it.
There are so many possibilities when it comes to homemade DIY lush bath bombs. You just have to encourage yourself enough to try and experiment with more ingredients especially the combinations of dyes and essential oils.
